Visa success, Events next week. Thurs & Fri. Hear Cuban research scientist, Marianniz Díaz Hernández and ICAP representative, Iván Barreto López

Thank you to all who responded to the campaign to get visas issued for our guests Marianniz Diaz Hernández and Iván Barreto López. The visas were issued today.

While they have a short visit to New Zealand we are making the most of the opportunity. Marianniz and Iván will be meeting with the Waipareira Trust, officials at the Ministry of External Relations and Trade, speaking at the World Affairs Forum, meeting researchers and academics at the University of Auckland School of Medicine, academic staff at the Unitec campus of Te Pukenga and you are all invited to wrap it up with a light meal and public meeting hosted by the Auckland Cuba Friendship Society.

We still have room in the programme for media opportunities.

The Cuba Friendship Society is covering the cost of the trans-tasman airfares, visas and other expenses. We need to raise about $2,000 to cover these costs. If you can contribute please donate to New Zealand Cuba Society 02-0159-0200303-00.
