Car Caravan and Solidarity Rally

End US economic & political sanctions against Cuba!

Join us in Auckland for a car caravan at 11am on Saturday, May 29 to demand the United States government lift its embargo and all other economic and political sanctions against Cuba.

There is great economic hardship in Cuba. Washington’s attacks are particularly criminal in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Cuban people and their government are setting an example of how to confront the pandemic, including developing vaccines for use both within Cuba and internationally.

The Cuba Friendship Society is organising this caravan to coincide with solidarity actions taking place in a number of other countries, called the Bridges of Love project.

What is the car caravan and how do I join:

Cars will assemble at 11am at the Onehunga Train Station, 109-111 Onehunga Mall Road, Onehunga. (This has an open park-and-ride carpark.)

Tape a sign to your car window, fly a Cuban flag, or decorate your car in some other way to show solidarity with Cuba.

If you can’t bring a car, you can ride as a passenger in another car.

We will then drive in convoy through some nearby shopping centres, returning to Onehunga about one hour later where we will have a brief solidarity rally.
