Come To Waihopai Spy Base Protest And Blenheim Meeting January 24-26

Details of why the spy base should be closed and how to join Anti-Bases Campaign at the Waihopai protest weekend are here:

The protest at the spy base will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 25th (spy base outer gate, Waihopai Valley Road).

The Blenheim meeting will be at the Nativity Centre, 76 Alfred Street, in the lounge, starting at 1 p.m Saturday January 25th. The programme’s topics will include:

an update on NZ’s spy agencies and their activities

Rocket Lab, NZ’s newest US base

a discussion of how to get the issue of NZ’s membership of the US military/intelligence alliance (Five Eyes et al) onto the 2020 election agenda

time will be set aside to hear from people present about the campaigns that they are involved in and how we can all work together

Registration is $40 ($20 unwaged) per person to cover costs. If you wish to travel in ABC’s rental van from Christchurch, add an extra $20.

Please include your name and "Waihopai Reg" or “Waihopai Don” as references and please email abc when the deposit has been made, so that we can contact you.

If you wish to join ABC: annual membership is $20 (includes sub to Peace Researcher)

The action takes place on Saturday January 25th. But it involves a three day weekend (Friday-Sunday) to factor in travel to and from the remote location in Marlborough. The campground at Onamalutu is our base for Friday and Saturday nights. Meals are provided and it’s a good place for informal catch-ups with other activists
