Kia ora Peace Friends,
We are bringing you three peace events on this weekend. One of those is organised by Auckland Peace Action, the other two (on Friday night and Sunday night) by other groups. Get along and support any and all of these awesome peace actions happening in Auckland: make some connections and be part of building a solid resistance movement to imperialism, militarism and fascism (and eat some yummy Middle Eastern food!).

USA: Love Not Hate (AKL edition)
Take action against US immigration fascism

When: Friday, 5pm
Where: US Embassy, 23 Custom Street, Auckland
Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/392262337960150/

We have to do something, we have to stand up and show that what is happening in the USA is not something we support, but something we abhor. We plan to meet, as a community, including children, outside the US consulate in AKL, to make it clear that we support the Families Belong Together campaign.

All welcome. This is a child-friendly event, with a "We Are So Disappointed In You, USA" vibe, so please keep that in mind. There will be chalking, singing, speeches and flowers. If you are able to bring an LED candle that would be great.

Speakers include Tracey Barnett, Ricardo Menendez March, Kingi Snelgar, and Meg de Ronde. Thanks to the organisation of Mums 4 Refugees, and support from Amnesty International NZ.

There are other events happening outside the US consulate on this issue too, we encourage you to head along as well/instead:
– 12noon Friday 22nd – rally For The Children
– 12noon Saturday 23rd – protest No Human is Illegal

DECOLONISE! DEMILITARISE! SOLIDARITY ACROSS THE PACIFIC – RESIST RIMPAC 2018

Join with the Pacific Panthers & Auckland Peace Action for a family-friendly peace action next Saturday, 23 June from 3-4pm
Outside Devonport Naval Base, corner of Queens Parade & Spring Street
Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/175293849829518/

Bring peace placards, banners & flags

In June 2018, navies, warships and weapons from 26 nations across the globe are gathering in the Pacific for the world’s largest international maritime war exercises, called “RIMPAC” for “Rim of the Pacific.” The NZ military serving as the sea combat commander in this grotesque display of imperial US power.

People across the Pacific do not want these war exercises in their homes, in their ocean, in their very communities: from Guam to Okinawa, from Auckland to Manila, from Suva to San Diego, our communities say RESIST RIMPAC.

Join with us to resist this war planning. It’s time for us to put the vast resources that we use to make war to build peace and justice. This means building a demilitarised and decolonised Pacific: weapons-free, nuclear-free and independent!

Peaceships not warships!
