March to OCCUPY – Stop the eviction of Ioela (Niki) Rauti!
Tuesday 17 Jan 6pm
Meet Glen Innes Library or Corner of Line Rd/West Tāmaki Rd
Ioela (Niki) is a Tāmaki Housing tenant that is being evicted from her home in Glen Innes. She is refusing leave her home and is resisting this eviction. Niki is going to occupy her home of 21 years, past the day of eviction and would like you to join her.
Niki was born and raised in Glen Innes, she moved back to Glen Innes into her home at 14 Taniwha Street when her mother fell ill. This government wants her out of her home by the 19th January 2017.
Niki is making a stand for the elderly, sick, disabled and for all HNZ tenants facing discrimination and eviction in the name of redevelopment and reform. This eviction is a part of nationwide reforms that will see many state housing tenants forced out of their homes.
