70 years of the Israeli state is not a milestone to celebrate, and we will be shutting it down accordingly.
This day is not a celebration for the Palestinian people. Instead this day is called the "Nakba" – the catastrophe. The foundation of Israel is built on the ethnic cleansing of 750,000 to 100,000,000 indigenous Palestinians 70 years ago and turning them into refugees to establish a Jewish-majority state in Palestine. The Nakba is not a crime of the past, it is ongoing.
Last month over 30 Palestinian civilians were murdered by Israeli snipers.
Our plan is to make so much noise that they will be unable to continue with the proceedings. On Sunday, Auckland Peace Action is calling for supporters of freedom to stand up against the Israeli apartheid state. Let us cry out for freedom with noise makers, banners and Palestinian flags.
Things that are noisy and cheap include metal (pots, pans etc), whistles, alarms, megaphones, and humans. See you there xxx
