Dear Friends of Cuba
We are pleased to be able to host the president of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Kenia Serrano in Auckland on June 10 and 11.
Kenia is a dynamic leader of a new generation helping to build ties with the Cuban revolution around the world. We encourage you to come and meet Kenia and her colleague Yexenia Calzado, a young Cuban woman, at the reception which will be at the Western Springs Garden Community Hall, 956 Great North Road, on June 10 at 6.30pm followed by a public meeting at 7pm.
There are a couple of other opportunities to meet with Kenia on June 11, a meeting for union activists is being hosted by First Union at 10.30am and a round table discussion is being hosted by the New Zealand Centre for Latin American Studies at the University of Auckland at 4pm.
The publicity for the tour is below with a pdf file attached. You can share the event on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/832262166853709/
The Auckland Cuba Friendship Society is covering the cost of Kenia’s travel from Australia, where she is a guest of honour at the Australia Friendship societies’ national consultation. We are appealing for funds to help us make this tour possible. We anticipate the tour will cost about $1,000. If you are able to help please donate to The New Zealand Cuba Society 02-0159-0200303-00, please drop us an email so we can confirm that donations have been received.
In solidarity
