More About Samah Sabawi

International Speaker, Policy expert, playwright, author and poet.

Samah Sabawi is Gaza-born and Melbourne-based. She is an a popularTV presenter in Australia and an inspiring speaker on Peace building, Refugee Return, Islamophobia, Women in conflict areas, Creativity and more.

Ms. Sabawi is a policy advisor to the Palestinian policy network Al Shabaka, and the Council on Canada-Arab Relations. Previously she was Advocate at Australians for Palestine, and Subject Expert for the Canadian Foreign Service.

Samah Sabawi wrote and produced the plays Cries from the Land (2003) andThree Wishes (2008.) In 2014, her acclaimed play, Tales of a City by the Sea, completed sold-out seasons in both Palestine and Australia.

Her writing has been published in The Australian, Al Jazeera, The Age, Sydney Morning Herald and more. Her poetry has featured in magazines and books, most recently With Our Eyes Wide Open(West End Press.) She is now editing a collection of diaspora plays for the Playwrights Canada Press.
