‘Honour the War Dead by Ending War’ peace vigils to mark Armistice Day 2017: in Tauranga and Wellington on Friday, 10 November, and Auckland, Hamilton and Dunedin on Saturday, 11 November. * Auckland: Saturday, 11 November – Armistice Day Peace Vigil: Honour the War Dead by Ending War, to remember all the casualties of war, to remember all who resisted war, to call for an end to war, and to promote peace. In conjunction with peace and faith groups here and overseas who are holding vigils throughout the WW1 centenary to highlight our mutual belief that conflict must be resolved peacefully rather than by war. From 5pm to 5.30pm at the Devonport war memorial, Victoria Road, Devonport (in the shops by the library); organised by WILPF Tamaki Makaurau.

From 4.30pm to 5.30pm outside the Greerton Library on Chadwick Road, Tauranga; organised by the Tauranga Quaker Worship Group,Tauranga Amnesty International and Pax Christi.

In conjunction with peace and faith groups here and overseas who are holding vigils throughout the WW1 centenary to highlight our mutual belief that conflict must be resolved peacefully rather than by war. From 5.30pm to 6.30pm in front of the ArtsPost building, 120 Victoria Street, Hamilton; organised by the Hamilton Quaker Worship Group.

* Wellington: Friday, 10 November – Armistice Day Peace Vigil: Honour the War Dead by Ending War, to remember all the casualties of war, to remember all who resisted war, to call for an end to war, and to promote peace. In conjunction with peace and faith groups here and overseas who are holding vigils throughout the WW1 centenary to highlight our mutual belief that conflict must be resolved peacefully rather than by war. From 5pm to 5.30pm at the Cenotaph, corner Lambton Quay and Bowen Street, Wellington – please bring a candle and a reflection to share if you wish, banners and placards will be available at the vigil. From 11am at the Peace Pole, Otago Museum reserve, Dunedin – please feel free to come with music or poetry or readings, or just bring yourself to stand awhile; organised by Dunedin Quakers.
